Honesty is important, not being manipulative is important. Tell the truth, and explain why we do things the way we do them. Give people the maximum amount information to make their decisions, regardless of how favorable or unfavorable that decision will be.
Don't harass others, don't hurt others, don't insult others. Even when we believe they are wrong, even when we believe they are causing harm to others. If someone is harming a vulnerable person, protecting that vulnerable person is important, but harassment does not protect them at all, it only causes more pain.
Unfortunately, often there is no way to protect the vulnerable person at all. Be kind nonetheless.
